Upcoming events...

    March 4, 2005 - Regional Conference

Theme:  "Faith our source of strength!"

Messages by:  Dn. Joel Jacob &  Very Rev. Fr. Moolayil

         Location: St. Peter's Church

Looking forward to it! Can you feel the excitement building already?!?

March 11, 2005 - Saturday Sundae (St. Peter's youth fellowship day)

          Location: St. Peter's Church

We'll be delving more into Hebrews 11!  Last time we covered Cain & Abel...

Who is next in the hall of fame of faith?

There will be good food (pizza), fellowship (games), and study (Hebrews)!

(Note this is open not just to the St. Peter's kids!  So if you in the area come

           on by!)

Past Events...

Feb 4, 2005 - Saturday Sundae (St. Peter's youth fellowship day)

It was a fun-filled time of study, encouragement, and fellowship.

We played a new game called "Things I should have shared" (ie. a

made-up game with a particular lesson :))  Then played a couple

rounds of Mafia (aka Asassins.)   Along with just some time spent

           talking and conversing.

We continued into the hall of fame of faith, so the core of the day was spent

          studying Cain & Abel.

               Some Key lessons:

                  1. It’s not comparison... God wants us to excel in the things given to us!

                  2. Sin is not a easy to avoid thing... rather it is crouching at our door

and desires to have us...but we must master it! (see Gen. 4:7)

                  3. "Living" worship -- is our life a living worship to God?

Winter canned food drive! @ St. George!

St. George went all out with serving this year.  Working a shelter was not

enough, so they went on to have a canned food drive...give the food the

 needy! Awesome heart of service!

     Bible Studies & Discussions...

There have been a variety of lay Bible discussion @ St. Peter's...we've met

twice to discuss the Ruho study!  The last meeting, Feb. 19, was lively

and deep!  Thanks to all that participated...but more thanks to God

        for stimulating and openness!

Really Past Events (from last year)...

(yes we are slow in reporting things...)

November 11,2005- Regional Sunday School Conference in Detroit

A conference was held and sponsored by our Detroit church.  The first message

challenged us to shine in the world about us.  Next, Fr. Edward Hanna went

over "Our Father...,"  picking apart the meaning.  Oh that all our prayers were

so.  Many of the kids were touch by both messages.

December 24, 2005 - Soup Kitchen Volunteer Event

The Chicago kids got together and took a bite out of hunger!  They volunteered

at one of the city's shelters.   They met the day before to pray! Then they

cooked all next day, making: turkey, macaroni, cookies, mashed potatoes,

gravy, etc...  Then they served at night!  Serving together was a good time of

bonding between the youth as well.

In addition, it definitely taught some of us not to take God's abundant blessing

for granted!  May we not stop serving!

Mathew 25:40 - "The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for

one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for ME!"
